May 22 International Day for Biological Diversity Pop-up Event【Finding MCU’s Hidden Roommates】

Do you know that a group of “hidden roommates” who don’t have to take midterm exams lives on the Ming Chuan campus?
They are the “Spiranthes sinensis,” a native Taiwanese orchid species that blooms around Tomb-sweeping Day;
It is the “Aegista mackensii (Swinhoe’s Tree Lizard)” that enjoys sunbathing;
It is the slow-moving native “Taiwanese Shield Snail (Aegista mackensii)”;
It is the “Duttaphrynus melanostictus” (Black-spectacled toad) that sneaks out at midnight to throw a party;
And the “Idaea,” mysterious nocturnal visitors drawn by the moonlight.
This group of lovely and natural indigenous residents live together with us in this ecologically rich, wall-less green campus.

To celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22, the Library is hosting a special limited-time flash event. Simply borrow a physical book and unlock the exclusive ecological information of these natural indigenous residents to receive a Taiwan endangered animal cup. Let’s start with daily reading and work together to protect Ming Chuan’s rich biodiversity!
