Ming Chuan University Procedures of Discussion Room Usage

Article 1
In principle, the Library provides discussion rooms for groups of three or more faculty, staff or students. Individual readers are to please refrain from using the discussion rooms.
Article 2
Readers who wish to borrow a discussion room should make a booking through the Library system; bookings are accepted one week before the date of use. Each booking can reserve a discussion room for 2 hours at one time, and the full names of all who will enter the room should be provided for reference during the booking process. Rooms are only open for booking on week days; on weekends, readers should book a room in person at the Library front desk.
Article 3
Users should report punctually to the Library front desk on the day they have booked a room. They will receive the room key after Library staff check and hold their faculty ID, staff ID or student ID. The ID will be returned after the room is vacated and the key returned to the Library front desk.
Article 4
Bookings will be canceled once borrowers over 10 minutes late, and that booking period will be released for others to make bookings.
Article 5
Borrowers are not to occupy one room for an extended time and they cannot transfer their booking period to others. The Library will suspend borrowing right for a month it any violation mentioned about is discovered.
Article 6
To prevent disturbing others in the nearby areas, all discussion room users should keep their voices down in the discussion room.
Article 7
Discussion room users are only permitted to engage in activities related to teaching, academic research or academic discussion in the room. The Library may suspend or cancel borrowing rights if borrowers engage in activity that is not within this range.
Article 8
Borrowers should use equipment in the rooms carefully. Food and beverages are strictly prohibited in the rooms. Users should remove all of their trash from the room and return tables and chairs to their original places before leaving the rooms. The Library may suspend or cancel borrowing rights if users don’t follow these regulations.
Article 9
If necessary, Library staff may enter the room during users’ booking time or cancel bookings on the spot when required to maintain the order and environment of discussion room usage effectively, accommodate official needs, or deal with an emergency situation.
Article 10
The Library bears no responsibility for users’ personal belongings. Borrowers bear full responsibility for any lost items in the Library. If users damage any equipment or room facility, they must compensate the original price of the damaged item, and this record will serve as a reference for Library to
determine whether or not to accept future bookings from them.
Article 11
Upon being passed at the Library Committee Meeting and approved by the president, these procedures were announced and implemented. Any revision must follow the same procedures.
