Ming Chuan University Guidelines for the Opening and Use of Taipei Library Study Room

Article 1
These Guidelines were established to effectively manage the fifth floor Study Room of Ming Chuan University Taipei Library (hereinafter referred to as "the Library").
Article 2
Target users:
The Study Room is mainly provided to the faculty and students of Ming Chuan University for
self-learning. Alumni and persons outside of the university may be granted access depending on
availability, except for during exam periods or specific announced times.
Article 3
Opening hours:
In principle, the Study Room is open 24 hours a day. However, the Library may adjust the area of use and opening hours if necessary and the changes will be announced separately.
Article 4
Instructions for use:
- Users of the Study Room must comply with the library's reading regulations and enter through the gate with valid identification issued by the University or the Library.
- Keep your voice down in the Study Room. Please turn off or set communication devices such as mobile phones to silent mode. When using devices with keyboards or buttons, such as laptops, calculators, or mouse, please try to avoid disturbing others. Please refrain from behaviors such as discussing, making phone calls, chatting, or making noises.
- To maintain a good reading environment, please refrain from eating and drinking (except for plain water) or engaging in any behaviors that may spoil environmental hygiene and cleanliness.
- To maintain fairness of use, please do not occupy seats in any form. When you finish studying, please take your personal belongings with you. Otherwise, Library staff may move the items to a temporary storage area without assuming any responsibility for safekeeping.
- In order to assist students who need to bring along a large number of books for long-term study, lockers are specially set up in the Study Room. Instructions for use will be established separately.
- Please cherish public property. If any damage or loss of property occurs, the person responsible shall bear responsibility for compensation.
- Please safeguard your personal belongings. If any items are lost, individuals shall assume full responsibility for their own personal belongings.
- In order to maintain order and safety in the Study Room, the Library staff may request users to present identification for inspection if necessary.
Article 5
Instructions for use for alumni and persons outside of the university:
- Alumni are required to apply for an alumni library card at the Library counter before using the Study Room.
- Persons from outside of the University should apply for a temporary library card at the Library counter by presenting a valid form of identification. The hours of use are limited to weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and opening hours during winter/summer break or special periods will be announced separately.
Article 6
Matters not covered in these guidelines will be dealt with in accordance with General Procedures for Library Services.
